Employ Wandsworth 2018
Work Match hosted it’s first annual jobs event – Employ Wandsworth 2016 on Friday the 22nd of April 2016. Hosted at the Wandsworth Civic Suite, over the course of the day 1000+ residents attended. The event was open to residents of all ages and from across the whole of Wandsworth, including residents returning to work, those changing career and those starting out on their employment journey.
The event brought together 36 exhibitors, which included a range of 28 different businesses working within the borough from four sectors. Construction, Hospitality and Catering, Retail and Professional Services. Also highlighted were opportunities within the Battersea Nine Elms area (including Battersea Power Station) and the Northern line Extension.
The day also provided a range of seminar’s on Business start up, hosted by Business Launchpad and the Wandsworth council Enterprise team, followed by a recruitment session by KFC. As a direct outcome of this, KFC are offering a number of residents jobs, starting in early May. Other sectors in which people have been offered jobs include retail and construction, with more to follow.
